Bodegas Lagarde Guarda Malbec 18
Bodega Lagarde is located just 20 minutes south of Mendoza city in the highly-regarded sub-region of Lujan de Cuyo. The estate features some of Mendoza's earliest vineyards, with plantings documented as far back as 1897. The dramatically low yields of the 100-year-old vines produce wines of remarkable depth, complexity, and character.
Today, third-generation winemaking sisters Sofia and Lucil Pescarmon manage both vineyard and winery operations at Bodega Lagarde. Under their meticulous leadership, the estate creates superb quality wines that reflect the unique Lujan de Cuyo terroir, along with the sister's love of nature and passion for their region.
In your glass, this bold, rich red opens with aromas of ripe dark fruits and plum with hints of chocolate, dark roasted espresso, vanilla, and a campfire. The palate is very nicely balanced with ample acidity to counter the smooth, silky-rich fruit. The lengthy finish features velvety-smooth tannins framed by just the right amount of oak spice.
It's no accident that you'll find Bodega Lagarde Guarda Malbec in the best restaurants across Argentina. It will be equally at home with steaks, chops, stews, ragouts and will also be a decadent burger red!
