One of our favorite value-driven wines from Bordeaux has returned! When you pull the cork and get this into your glass, I think you'll agree; this gorgeous Bordeaux is once again a steal at such a low price. I'd put this up against similar properties in the region priced at double or more the cost.

Thomas Laurent -- Just across the river from the most famous properties

2019 delivered yet another warm, dry growing season in Bordeaux, and the ideal harvest conditions cemented the vintage as another great one. The combination of scorching daytime temperatures and many unusually cool evenings lead to wines with tons of depth, character, and power while still retaining an outstanding balance of lift, acidity, and finesse.

You'll find Château Thomas Laurent on the right bank of the Gironde, just opposite the world-renowned Château Mouton Rothchild in Pauillac. They certainly enjoy some of the very favorable climate and soil conditions as the big names in Pauillac, however, without the high price tags of that region.

The Château has been in the Chapron family for four generations. Current owner Didier Chapron farms the 17 hectares of vineyards in near-natural cultivation (lutte raisonnée), respecting both environment and tradition. This attention to detail and quality has led to numerous well-deserved awards at various competitions in Paris, Bordeaux, Vins d'Aquitaine, Mâcon, and Vinalies International.

Superb Bordeaux at a bargain price

The real treat, of course, is in the glass! This blend of 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc opens with a bright, fresh nose of minerals, cherries, and red berries. Sweet cherry and red currant fruit balance nicely with earthy tones and notes of red licorice. Ripe, silky tannins lead to a bright and expressive finish that leaves you wanting another sip!

I love that this Bordeaux will seamlessly transition from all your culinary creations and grilling adventures of the summer into the heartier fare of fall and winter. Pair this with roasted game birds, beef fillet, and any stews and ragouts. Drink now through 2026.

I'm excited once again to feature the return of this stellar Bordeaux value. It has been a top customer and staff favorite over the last few years, and I know many of you have been patiently waiting for the new vintage to arrive. For my pallet, the 2019 Thomas Laurent is significantly smoother, with more richness and depth than the previous vintage while still retaining classic Bordeaux structure.
