Pinhal da Torre Tago Tinto 17
I know a lot of you waited patiendly for Tago to return. I'm delighted to report that the new vintage has arrived. Even better, the insider price has gone down a buck!
Tago is a project produced exclusively for our importer and is 100% estate grown and bottled by Pinhal da Torre Vinhos. The 2017 Tago is blended completely from indigenous Portuguese grapes --40% Tinta Roriz, 40% Tinta France, and 20% Alicante Bouschet.
There's a ton of value in Portuguese wines, and Tago is a perfect example of the superb quality delivered at super reasonable prices. In the glass, this medium-bodied red offers notes of smoky roasted herbs, and dark berries on the nose, leading to a generous palate of red fruits framed by notes of chocolate and coffee. The soft and supple structure finishes with smooth notes of chocolate covered dark cherries.
This medium-bodied gem will pair perfectly with white meats from the grill and will also pair nicely with beef and lamb.
