The vines of Château Saintongey are planted on 37 acres at the top of the Haut Benauge valley southeast of Bordeaux, opening onto the Château Haut Mondain heights. The terroir at the Château is particularly suited for viticulture thanks to the vineyard's heavy clay and limestone soil composition.

The estate's old vines holdings (aged well over 25 years) of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Semillion, Sauvignon Blanc, and Muscadelle have been lovingly cared for since 1993 by the Yung family. Christophe Yung currently manages the estate, and he represents the fourth generation of family vignerons.

The blend of 70% Semillion and 30% Sauvignon Blanc opens to aromas of tropical fruits, fresh herbs, fig and orange zest leading to a juicy and penetrating palate. The Semillon provides plenty of body while the Sauvignon Blanc provides a zippy counterpoint of citrus and minerality.

Château Saintongey Bordeaux Blanc is a classic white for all of your seafood and poultry creations and would also pair nicely with lighter pork dishes.
