Hammond and I are big fans of dessert wines, and there are some evenings when we'll finish a great meal with just a small glass of dessert wine -- as dessert!

Guillaume Gonnet's La Douce is a textbook Muscat de Beaumes de Venise made from 100% Muscat Petits Grains, vinified and aged entirely in stainless. In your glass, you're greeted with gorgeous aromas of fresh peach and apricot, leading into a nicely lifted palate of honeyed peach with subtle notes of green tea and white flowers. There's enough sweetness for dessert; however, also enough brightness and cut to serve as an aperitif.

Pair this with all of your non-chocolate desserts. It especially rocks with a French-style fruit tart. Of course, it makes a great dessert all by itself in the glass.
