P +S represents Prats and Symington, a joint venture between Bordeaux's Bruno Prats, longtime managing director of Château Cos d'Estournel, and Charles Symington, one of the Douro's most significant Port wine producers. The highly influential partnership of Prats and Simington created this collaborative project at Quinta de Roriz in the Douro Valley. Their task was to produce powerful yet elegant dry red wines specifically from the region's indigenous grapes.

After selling Château Cos d'Estournel, Bruno Prats dabbled in several international wine undertakings, notably with projects in Chile and South Africa. When Prats returned to Europe and renewed his friendship with the Symington family, it piqued his interest in creating dry, red wines in the unique conditions of the Douro Valley. In 1999, Pratts formed a partnership with Charles Symington and introduced the first fruits of their collaboration in 2000.

The 2018 Prazo de Roriz from Prats & Symington is classic Douro all the way! The blend of Touriga Franca, Tinta Barroca, Tinta Roriz, and Touriga National opens with aromas of dark cherry, raspberry, and dusty cocoa, framed by notes of spice and black pepper. The smooth and velvety palate features gorgeous tones of mocha and chocolate with hints of black pepper nicely balancing the vibrant Douro fruit. The long finish is super clean, with soft, ripe tannins, making this a great red for the table and casual sipping.
