We've been featuring a wide variety of wines from Rodney Strong Wine Estates for years. When I heard about their new "Knotty Vines" label, I knew we had to check it out.

Rodney Strong Winery was established in 1959 by Sonoma County wine innovator Rod Strong. The winery maintains an impressive track record of environmental awareness, focusing on careful stewardship of the land using ecologically sound farming practices, solar power, and fish-friendly farming. They sustainably farm fourteen estate vineyards in some of Sonoma County's best AVAs -- Alexander Valley, Chalk Hill, Dry Creek Valley, Knights Valley, Russian River, and Sonoma Coast.

The 2018 Knotty Vines Cabernet Sauvignon is packed with smooth, rich fruit that's nicely balanced by hints of earth and minerals. The plush medium-bodied middle palate features dark cherry and blackberry dancing on a mantle of chocolate and mocha, leading to a finish with super-finely grained tannins.

This quote from winemaker Olivia Wright sums it up nicely and makes me smile:
"We are so excited to introduce Knotty Vines as an affordable luxury for the adventurous; I make these wines to give people goosebumps when they share with friends and when they give into just a bit of temptation."
